|Wharfe Street, looking east, is the main street in the town. The mills, now apartments are in the centre of the town. The chimney, although no longer used, is iron banded and has presumably been kept to keep the "industrial air" to the town.
The road here is the A58, the major trunk road before the building of the M62 motorway, between Lancashire and Yorkshire across the Pennine Hills.
The hill in the distance is the western end of Halifax, the major town of which we are now just a "suburb".
